Leader Of Leaders

What is it going to take for us to reach our world in our generation? Our traditional methods are not cutting it! We need to get back to the primacy of real New Testament missions and ministry. The article “Leader Of Leaders” on the World Evangelism blog by Austin Gardner says what we need to hear. It is time for us to re-think our mission methodology, scrap all that stuff that doesn’t work, open the Mission Manuel (God’s Word) and get down to business.

JOY IN THE CITIES?

Philip the evangelist, a man of God, led of the Holy Spirit, (Acts 6:3) went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ unto them. AND THERE WAS GREAT JOY IN THAT CITY. (Acts 8:8) There are untold thousands of cities in our world today with no joy because they have no one preaching the Gospel there. These cities represent millions of souls who race toward an awful fiery eternity. There will be no joy in those cities until a man of God obeys the command of God to go and preach. There will be no joy in those cities until someone comes into the presence of the Lord to hear Him say,”Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? (Isaiah 6:8)There will be no joy in those cities until someone allows the Holy Spirit to direct him and empower him. There will be no joy in those cities until someone allows God to overcome his fears and boldly assays to go. Many would rather stay where they are, than “go down to the city …” We must go where He leads, when He leads. We will not affect the souls of men with “enticing words of man’s wisdom, but (only) in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”There will be no joy in those cities until a man of God goes with the power of God to preach the message of God. “Philip … preached Christ unto them.” The man was right and the message was right. Nothing else can bring the joy. Yes, the man of God will face his Simon the sorcerer (Acts 8:9) and his Demetrius and other grievous wolves who enter in, but he will also find the Timothy, Lydia, Aquilla, Priscilla and see JOY IN THE CITIES.

What of the great cities of our world? What of the small cities? What of the towns and villages? You already know, those who have no one preaching Christ will have no salvation, have no joy and can only expect to know weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, and the utter darkness of eternity without Christ. May God help us “Awake unto righteousness and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God:” (1 Corinthians 15:34)

We want to see JOY IN THE CITIES! Therefore we must continue to do as Jesus said, “Let us go into the next towns that I may preach there also …” (Mark 1:38 and to do as Paul did, “To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you…” (2 Corinthians 10:16) Let’s work together to bring JOY to the cities.
