Last Wednesday just before church I received a call from Hector Velasquez. He was calling from Saint Mary’s hospital in West Palm Beach to tell us about his brother Juan. Earlier in the day Juan had fallen from a ladder and his head hit a car that was parked nearby.
Immediately after church Frances and I went to the hospital. Juan had just been moved into ICU. He was unconscious and remained that way until Sunday. He is slowly improving but he is not yet out of the woods. He also developed pneumonia. We have visited several times and on Sunday afternoon he was finally awake a little so he recognized me. I took that as a positive improvement.
Our church is praying for his recovery and praying for the family. His wife and child are in Guatemala. Two of his brothers, Arturo and Hector and his brother in law Ernesto attend church with Juan here at IBFL. He has another brother and a cousin we are ministering to during this time too. Please join us in praying for him.
