Another One From Tzisbaj

By Ron Maggard

I’m back.  Well, I really haven’t been away, except from blogging.  When I got back to Florida after my two back to back conferences I had so much work back up and so many deadlines that I had to roll up my sleeves and plow into it all.  With all the busyness we also have seen some wonderful blessings that I have not had a chance to share yet.

The first is about Fredy.  Fredy has been coming out to church for a couple of weeks.  He is another one of our contacts from Tzisbaj in northwest Guatemala.  Some of you may remember about us preaching there a couple of months ago.  Since then we have seen Sebasian saved and now Fredy as well.  Fredy’s family lives next door to the house where we preached in Tzisbaj.  Some of his family members attended our meeting.  I don’t know if any of them made decisions but soon after we were there Edmundo Diaz one of our preachers training here finally convinced Fredy to come out and hear the preacher that had preached in his home town.  Fredy was raised Catholic.  That was the only church in his town.  But he admitted his religion had done nothing for him.  He married, had a child but was ruining his life with alcohol.  He knew he needed something until he found out he needed SOMEONE.  He began to have a hunger as he heard the Word.  He came out to everything at church, finally even showing up for our Bible Institute classes.  During one of those classes he trusted Christ as his Savior.  He still comes to everything.  Praise the Lord!  He was even back in the Bible Institute classes yesterday.  He said, “I want to learn more.”  That is what it is all about.
